Petals Through the Wind - The Life of a Flower

Title: Flower
Genre: Adventure
Developer: Thatgamecompany
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
System: Playstation 3
Release Date: February 12th, 2009

A game about flowers? What is this madness? Well, madness or not, a game of flowers exists. Flower is the second game created by Thatgamecompany as part of their three part original deal with Sony (alongside flOw and Journey).

If you're expecting a huge plot from this game, don't expect that.

The game conists of six levels (seven if you count the ending credits) which follows the dreams of each flower in a variety of different landscapes -- from meadows, near windmills, farms, and even a city.

At the start of each level, a petal will be plucked from the flower and carried away by the wind. You control both the wind and the direction of the petal and collect other flower petals along the way.

You have only two controls in this game: press any button on your controller to control the wind, and tilting the controller will change the direction the petals will go.

Rather than focusing on a major plot, the game is meant to show a variety of emotions such as happiness, which is done through the game's scenery and soundtrack, in which it would correspond with the player's actions in the game.

Flower is a game that's simple and has the ability to capture people's emotions as they play through. If you're looking for something that's affordable (at $7) and pleasing, then Flower's your choice here.
